Approach

Beautiful is the word most used to describe Susie's photos. She shoots in the field, out on location, capturing subjects as she finds them rather than setting up shots in a studio. She is best known for her critically acclaimed pictures of Southwest rock art, a passion born in 1995 when she unexpectedly discovered pictographs and petroglyphs while vacationing in Sedona.

In 2005 she moved to Sedona from Sausalito, California, following her heart's calling to shoot its spectacular scenery and to document and protect its rock art. She leads scenic, photo and archaeology tours, and teaches photographers of all levels, from composition and camera settings to Photoshop and Lightroom.

Her work has been shown at the Cooper Hewitt Museum, the De Young Museum, the International Museum of Photography and the Library of Congress, and she is represented by Goldenstein Gallery in Sedona. Her photographs are available for licensing and as paper, metal or canvas prints.
